Thought is a luxury only few can handle

Updated: Feb 10, 2021

I have written three drafts so far on this topic. Each draft better that the previous. However for July I can write 10 different drafts and they will all reflect the month that has transformed my life.

July felt like a whole year all bundled up into a 31 day month. I remember all that happened from the July 1st 2020 to today, July 31, 2020. Jim Kwit teaches, “Information combined with emotion becomes long term memory.” The days were pegged by emotional events which I just have to write and post publicly for everyone to read and reflect on. Let us begin...

It is no secret that I love reading. As such this month I have read one hard copy book, multiple soft copy books and three audio books. Of all this, the last audio book was the epitome of all reading in July. “The Interview with The Devil” by Napoleon Hill is a must read or listen to.

Whether it is real or not, what the book contains is basic, easy to understand life lessons. My family and friends know the aspect of “Drifting.” I have been posting on my private social media about it. Now, let me explain.

“The Interview with The Devil” is just that, an interview with the devil. The devil explains how he controls 98% of the world’s population through a simple technique which has served him well - drifting. People are drifting through life. This habit starts from childhood and develops through school and controls our lives. This is the main reason people use as I reference to the Bible, the wide path.

Drifting means letting the family, friends, religious institutions, learning institutions, environments, circumstances and other aspects of life influence our choices. You drift from God’s purpose to the worldly life. In short you are not thinking for yourself. You allowing the above mentioned factors think for you. Let me give some examples at this point.

You drink alcohol because your father was a drunkard, your friends go drinking, or the club at the corner sells cheap liquor or some other reason you use to justify why you drink and are heading to the alcoholic label. You know drinking is not good for your liver and health. The act has caused numerous personal problems but you still continue.

Sex is a medium used dutifully by the devil in drifting you from your cause. From the man’s perspective, sex damns them to hell when they do not control their urges. You are never satisfied with your girlfriend, wife or spouse. Lusting is still sin, touch and going the whole hall is also still a sin. You do it once, twice, thrice and done, you are hooked. Sex before marriage is still a sin (I pause because I have also fallen from grace here. I am not perfect). Key word here is control.

The devil explains that women and sex is a weapon he uses constantly and easily. The same applies for women as men but the manipulation level is for the female form. They can use sex or the aural of sex to string many men astray. It is a powerful element that I already knew about but now that the devil has called it out, I see its importance.

“The Interview with The Devil” reveals that we do not control our thinking. It is a controversy older that Jesus Christ. 98% of the world population is living under some form of control. The education system is flawed as Robert Kiyosaki also supports. It is geared to control the population and keep the 98% minds manipulated. Religion itself is another form of control. Yes, you read right. Religion is tool for mass mind control.

In order to break from the devil’s clutches you have to start thinking. Lack of thinking is the greatest form of laziness. Think for yourself. It is literally that simple. Think. Think. Think. Think for yourself. Choose for yourself. Do not let the circumstances you are in dictate the path you will take. There lives a wise saying, “Do not make permanent decisions on temporary emotions.” Stop, think, and act. I repeat stop, think, and act.

Back to my July experience. Winding up on my internship unceremoniously put me on a speedy road to drifting. Boy, did I drift from one topic to another, from one location to another and from conscious to unconscious states. When I finally came to the realization of my drifting I stopped, thought and acted. I no longer let my situation define my life.

I always say, “God loves me.” I believe this without a doubt. “I love you my Almighty God as well.” God has blessed me. He never lets me stay in a place that is detrimental to my emotional, psychological or financial health. God is a jealous God. Mary is his daughter and He defends me and will continue to defend me forever.

Listening to “The Interview with The Devil” affirmed God’s love for me more and reciprocated my love for my God. “Though I walk through the valley of the dead I fear no evil,” with God leading me. I have passed through many valleys and will pass through more. Life is not a bed of roses. My God in heaven is my protector, defender and provider. He is proud of me and I pray that I may never disappoint Him or His faith in me.

July inspired me to think not drift. I know I was thinking before, however, this is a higher level of thinking. Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Ma’s thinking. The world’s 2% that are the cream de la cream wealthiest people on earth. They all reiterate the importance of thinking. The choices maybe unconventional, abnormal even but they will be the right choice.

Napoleon Hill books are unconventional and practical. A normal person may read and not understand. His knowledge needs a person who knows that normal is a word not found in my dictionary. I am not a people pleaser. I will ask the questions. I will not fold my arms, sit back and watch. I will roll up my sleeves and work. I will get results.

There is a theme on Napoleon’s books. I first read “Think and Grow Rich” by the same author late last year. Since then I have had clearer life decisions and overcome the struggles of this life. Napoleon was a thinker. A brilliant thinker and he wrote various books. You should also read these books and awaken your mind to thinking.

I will forever remember July 2020 and as such, I serenade the month with this post. The month of supreme thinking. Everything came out of God’s mind. God is the source of everything. Man’s mind is God’s mind. Decide to think through your mind, God’s mind.
